About us

Why the organisation was set up

St Peter’s Partnerships was started in 1998 by four residents who were active in the local community. It brought together local residents, community organisations and Ashton Regeneration to discuss issues including community safety, housing, health, fly tipping, and anti-social behaviour. These discussions resulted in the launch of a number of community-based projects that addressed these issues. St Peter’s Partnership was registered as a charity in 2001.

In 2003, the organisation was restructured, and a charitable company (St Peter’s Community Partnership) was set up to run St Peter’s Partnerships’ charitable activities. A separate trading company (St Peter’s Trading Partnership) was established to generate an income for the charity, and help make it self-sufficient. Since then, St Peter’s Partnerships has expanded both its charitable and trading activities in line with the needs of the local community.
